The Homeschool High School Records System

Six files for the records side of homeschool high school: a transcript workbook that works out its own GPA, 131 academic course descriptions, the Bible and theology descriptions, the records pack, the homeschool requirements for all fifty states and DC, and a guide. Every verse in these files is public domain: the King James in the Protestant edition, the Douay-Rheims, Challoner revision, in the Catholic. We do not reproduce a copyrighted translation and we do not paraphrase one to get around that.

What is in it

• Transcript workbook, Excel and Google Sheets. Type in courses, credits and grades. Weighted GPA, unweighted GPA and total credits come out the other end. The formula cells are locked, because a stray keystroke breaking the arithmetic is the most common way a homeschool transcript goes wrong. Each year block opens with a row already labelled Bible / Scripture, or Religion / Catechism in the Catholic edition. It is an ordinary course row, so edit it or delete it.
• 131 academic course descriptions across English, mathematics, science, history and social science, world language, fine arts and electives, at Regular, Honors and AP levels. Written the way an admissions reader expects to see them, and editable down to the books that were actually on your table.
• Bible and theology course descriptions: twenty-six in the Protestant edition, thirty in the Catholic. Old Testament survey, Life of Christ, church history, ethics, apologetics, biblical Greek and Hebrew, and the rest. The Catholic file adds the Catechism, Lives of the Saints, Liturgy and the Sacraments, and Catholic apologetics. Each one books a faith credit as work a college reader can weigh.
• The records pack: twelve sections in the Protestant edition, sixteen in the Catholic. Report card, graduation and credit tracker, attendance and instruction-hours log, portfolio index with evaluator summary, reading log, activities and church log, weekly planner. Then scripture copywork, hymn of the month, a catechism and memory tracker, a family devotion schedule, a virtue tracker. The Catholic edition also carries the liturgical year, saint of the month, logs for Mass, Rosary and Adoration, and an examination of conscience.

Straight answers

Is it really editable? The transcript is a working spreadsheet and the documents are Word files. We expect you to rewrite the descriptions. A description is honest only when it matches your own table.

Will a college accept it? The layout is the one admissions offices already read: courses by year, level, grade, credits, cumulative GPA. Past that, what gets a transcript accepted is that it is complete and true. The first part is here. The second is yours.
